Ancient Egyptians believed that natural phenomenons were divine forces in and of themselves. They believe in a pantheon of gods that where involved in all aspects of nature and human society. The Ancient Egyptians performed many complex rituals that occurred to keep the gods happy. Also, many priests and worshipers offered gifts, participated in religious festivals, created statues, and offered prayers to keep the peace. Some of the more infamous gods include Anubis, A mun-Ra, Horus, and Isis. The famous river Nile god, Ha-pi, was worshiped by many in the hopes of being blessed with flood water to grow the crops. In addition, the ancient Egyptians also believed in the afterlife and buried their dead with riches.
